How Wizards Stay Connected! *my.diaryofawizard.com*
Did I mention in my last blog post that I live in Canada? Well if I didn't, I just did now! I live in Canada, which is a wonderful country and full of many kind people, fresh air and interesting places. The only real downside to living here though, has always been the fact that as a Wizard101 player, I just couldn't get those amazing cards or mega bundle packs up here.
Imagine my delight when KingsIsle announced that they were going to finally be bringing the cards to Canada! They haven't said whether it's going to just be the $15 and $20 cards, or if they were also planning on bringing the mega bundles here as well, but I really hope so. My husband and I were fortunate enough to have a friend throw us a bone by sending us some card codes from the states so that we weren't completely left out, and whenever I visit the states to see my family I stock up on the $20 cards at Target.
My speculation (and hope) is that when the cards finally do travel up to the northern region, they hit the following stores:
Futureshop
Gamestop
Shoppers Drug Mart
Toys 'R' Us
Best Buy
These stores would make the most sense, since they are everywhere, and while I know that it isn't typical for these cards to be sold in super markets I would love to see them appear in the Canadian Superstores. KingsIsle also mentioned that there would be unique Canadian pets (!!!) on these cards, and I have been having a lot of fun dreaming up the possibilities of what they could possibly be. I'm hoping for the following:
A patriotic piggle - make him white, and slap a red maple leaf on his tummy!
Canadian leprechaun - Much like the USA patriotic leprechaun, only with red and white and maple leafs. Yeah, I know...the maple leaf motif can only be used so much before it gets seriously boring.
A beaver - Okay, cliche much? Yes, I know. But it would be cute to see some new models for the pets and I think a beaver would be an obvious choice.
Mini Moose - Another cliche choice but there aren't that many animals that spring to my mind that say, "Canada!" like a Canadian moose.
Of course there would be serious problems implementing region-only pet models, as many players would feel badly they couldn't get a moose or beaver too and so I would never expect KI to do something like this. Still, it's nice to dream, isn't it? What do you think the exclusive Canada pets will be? Do you think it's fair to limit pets to specific region or not?

Hmm.. I think the Canadian pets will be more like variations of existing gift card pets, however I would beg Kingsisle for a Mini Moose!!! And I will be surprised if the maple leaf doesn't make an appearance somewhere, haha.
It probably is a little unfair if they were to have completely different pets in Canada, however I can't get the gift cards where I live, so you could argue that is unfair ( but I don't mind!) and even if they did, they would only work for the UK version which I don't play! I think it would be a brilliant idea if they also sold giftcards or other merchandise ( PLUSHIESS!!! ) online, maybe each with a code, so anyone on the world could get cool stuff. I would love to have a wizard101 plush toy!
